About Purple Puppet
A character-focused studio built for AAA and AA expectations—without losing the speed and clarity of a specialist team.
Studio story
We founded Purple Puppet in Bruges because character work deserves a home: a place where modeling, rigging, and animation are not isolated silos, but one continuous thread from concept to engine.
That focus attracts people who care about craft and communication—artists and technical artists who understand what it is like to ship under real milestones.
Leadership
Fred Lierman
CEO & Co-Founder
Fred co-founded Purple Puppet with a simple focus: do character work at the level AAA teams expect, with the communication and reliability producers need.
He helps studios navigate scope, timelines, and cross-discipline alignment so character pipelines stay predictable from first concept to engine.
Riham
Co-Director & Technical Director
Riham leads technical direction across rigging, tooling, and integration—from practical rig architecture to pipeline decisions that keep teams unblocked.
With deep experience in character technology, he ensures setups scale from hero assets to production volumes without falling apart under real workloads.
Core team
Rogie Custodio
Art Director
Rogie brings two decades of experience in mobile games—valuable when readability, style consistency, and adaptation across a roster matter as much as a single beautiful render.
He keeps quality bar and direction aligned across artists so projects stay cohesive as production accelerates.
Liz Yap
Character Lead
Liz leads character modeling and surfacing execution, with a focus on translation from concept to production-ready assets.
She mentors artists on topology discipline and look development choices that hold up in-engine—not only in portfolio lighting.
Ayoub Moulakhnif
Lead Animator
Ayoub leads animation craft and reviews, with a focus on personality, clarity, and rigs that stay usable under real shot load.
He champions tight collaboration with rigging so performance choices are not fought in the graph editor.
Our distributed team spans Belgium, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Malaysia—built to cover European and US-friendly communication hours.
How we work
Most of our team works remotely across Belgium, France, Spain, the UK, the United States, Canada, and Malaysia. We structure communication for overlap with European and US hours so reviews and feedback land when you need them.
You will get direct access to leads and accountable owners—not an anonymous ticket queue.
Values
We share an allergy to surprises on milestone week. Quality standards are negotiated up front; feedback is structured; and we are honest when scope, risk, or timing needs a reset.
Partnership, for us, is shared ownership of outcomes—not a vendor relationship that hides bad news until it is expensive.
