Rigging for Animators—Controls That Survive Production
How we design rigs that stay predictable under real shot work, not just in a demo scene.
Riham Toulan
A rig only earns its keep once animators push it under deadline pressure. The pretty turntable is the easy part; what matters is whether the controls hold up across hundreds of shots.
Predictable beats clever
We favor conventions animators already know—clean IK/FK switching, space switching where it actually helps, and constraints that never surprise you mid-scene. Bespoke gizmos are great until they break a hand-off.
Build for the engine you ship to
Deformation, LODs, and export quirks get handled up front, in collaboration with engineering, so problems don't cascade downstream during crunch.
